WHAT?
Paris Hilton (b. 1981) is the defining icon, idol, and metaphor of the 21st century. The Poetics of Paris Hilton is a creative writing workshop with a strictly ๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐'๐ ๐ฝ๐๐โฆ approach to contemporary literature. Each week, we will examine our work through a Paris Hilton-filter, with topics like plastic, popularity, pornography, poppers, and publishing.
Classes meet once a week for 2 hours. Each student will also meet 1-on-1 with the instructor for personalized feedback/discussion during the course.
Our meetings will consist of weekly readings/screenings/PowerPoints and discussion, followed by a lot of time to workshop our writing. You may choose to workshop the pieces youโve written in response to prompts for our course, or any other work youโve already written and would like to consider through our Juicy Couture lens.
